Omega-3s Made Easy
Soymega™ allows food companies to incorporate omega-3s into everyday foods—it has a clean flavor and can be used in a variety of great-tasting foods while maintaining shelf life.
Soymega™ is applicable in bakery products, soups, beverages, snack bars, dressings, yogurts, margarines, shortenings and more.
Solae has found positive sensory results with consumer panels and is currently working with food companies to introduce this oil into a variety of food and beverage products.
For example, in consumer acceptance testing of apple cinnamon baked bars, no significant differences were observed between bars made with Soymega™ and those made using conventional soybean oil in overall liking, appearance liking, flavor liking, color liking, texture liking and mouthfeel liking after three and six months of storage at ambient temperature. In another shelf life study, no significant differences were observed between Soymega™ and conventional soybean oil in strawberry dairy drink product concepts using consumer acceptance testing over a four-month period and tested at ambient temperatures.
